Customization of Adjustable Bed Height Available to Meet Specific Needs

Consumers, who have been accustomed to a certain bed height with their conventional mattress, box spring, and metal bed frame system, many times take this same height expectation they are familiar with when making the change to an adjustable bed.

Conventional metal frames found on flat mattress and box spring systems, generally have an industry height of 4-6” depending on whether there are castors or fixed legs used on them. There is little adjustment of height that can be done on this type of system other than having a custom frame height made, or just use the mattress and box spring on a platform bed without the frame at all.

Adjustable beds not only offer a level of comfort and therapeutic support that goes beyond what a conventional flat bed system could ever do, they are designed with the ability to have many different height options to accommodate virtually any need or application. Leg heights come in a variety of lengths from 2” to 9”, and if more height is still needed, there are even leg extenders that can add up to 9 additional inches, and leg risers that will add 3 more inches to leg height, all engineered and reinforced to maintain the maximum height required, without compromising stability of the bed.

Consumers have the choice to choose solid cylindrical steel legs for maximum stability and for those intending to not regularly move the bed, as well as legs that have large rolling castors providing greater ease of movement for cleaning and bed making purposes. Rolling leg castors also offer the ability to lock each one in place to keep the bed from moving when getting in or out of it.

Those individuals who have a Platform bed, or an old waterbed frame with under drawer storage, will appreciate the fact that the legs of the adjustable bed can be excluded during installation to facilitate placement on the elevated surface, thereby making the resulting total height more manageable for ingress and egress of the bed.
