You’ve done your research. You’ve picked out the ideal adjustable bed to meet your comfort and therapeutic goals. Now it’s time to discuss delivery details with your salesperson. You have an idea of what the method of getting your new bed to you will be, however are not familiar with the details that will tell you of the ease, or depth of personal involvement involved in getting that bed to your home! You are advised that there are two options of shipping your new bed to you; standard curbside delivery, or a White Glove in home set up. Most online retailers offer free standard curb side delivery, while White Glove in home set up service can cost up to 399.00 or more. Your sales representative can discuss the different pricing options for this type of delivery.
Most companies have well established processes in place to make getting your new bed to you as seamless as possible. Once you have placed your order, your bed will be shipped and delivered collectively, or in some cases the mattress will be delivered separately from the adjustable bed portion.
As of the time of this writing, due to the weight and size constraints of an adjustable bed frame, all on line retailers will ship the bed frames via a freight carrier such as: ABF, Conway, Yellow, etc. The mattress portion of the bed is sometimes shipped via a carrier such as FED EX, UPS, DHL, or other such delivery groups, and when possible, manufacturers will include the mattress with the adjustable bed frame.
This largely depends on the size and or total weight of the mattress in question. Many of today’s memory foam or Latex mattresses chosen for use on the adjustable bed are rolled and vacuum wrapped. Vacuuming wrapping allows for compression of this type of mattress resulting in a smaller and more compact package that can then be readily shipped by one of the carriers above. Heavier multi layered and higher profile mattresses including the innerspring variety, are usually shipped by Freight, though some manufacturers will even compress these types of mattresses depending on recommended design constraints. The innerspring mattress referenced above being the newer i-coil technology that is designed to successfully bend on an adjustable bed without compromising the integrity of the support coils.
