Once a consumer has decided on purchasing an adjustable bed whether for medical/therapeutic reasons, or just to enhance their relaxation and comfort level while reading or watching TV, they find that there is an available feature for their new bed that further enhances their sleep experience; Variable intensity massage This feature can be purchased as a built in system in the bed as most buyers choose to do, and for those that initially purchase an entry level adjustable bed without the massage feature, and who later wish to have one, there is an available aftermarket add on system that can easily be installed.
Those old enough to remember the built in coin operated massage systems found in the beds of road side motels may wonder if there is a similarity. They remember the loud, vibrating, and even irritating aspects of that hotel massage experience, and sometimes project that experience in skepticism when deciding on a massage system for their new bed.
The massage systems in today’s adjustable beds have come a long way from the noisy, “teeth rattling” hotel massage systems of yesteryear. The massage features in today’s adjustable beds are quiet, and have adjustable levels of intensity for a wide range of comfort settings. There are massage systems available today that even simulate a Shiatsu type of rolling massage that travel up and down the head and foot portions of the bed stimulating key pressure points, easing muscle tension, increasing circulation, and heightening stress relieving relaxation! They also allow users the option of activating the head, the foot, or both the head and the foot portion independently or simultaneously for optimal relief!
For those that become so relaxed that they drift off to sleep when using the massage feature, some manufacturers have even include a timer system that can be programed to shut off after a preselected period of use.
