Eco Friendly Mattress

The latex mattress is the eco-friendly answer when considering a new bedding system. The foam in all-natural latex mattresses is manufactured using the milky sap of the rubber tree. These trees, grown mostly in Indonesia and other countries of that region, are a renewable resource and environmentally-friendly processes that do not incorporate synthetic materials are used during manufacturing.
Rubber sap can be harvested from the same tree over and over. Skilled workers tap into a vein-like seam under the tree’s bark to siphon out the sap and leave the tree unharmed.
Because all of the materials that go into an all-natural latex mattress are, well, natural, the mattress itself is biodegradable and therefore eco-friendly. Latex mattresses have very long life-spans and can be used for 20 or more years. That’s significantly longer than other bed types, so latex mattress owners should have to replace their mattresses far less. But when they do, the discarded latex mattress will decompose far sooner than other bedding products.
During the manufacturing process, special scrubbers are used to ensure that no particle byproducts are released into the environment. Nothing left behind after manufacturing is complete is ecologically harmful.
The latex buyer interested in the environmental benefits afforded by an all-natural mattress should be careful when introduced to synthetic or blended varieties. In addition to all-natural, latex mattresses are also manufactured using synthetic materials. Blends use both synthetic and all-natural materials. Neither of these types provide the same eco-friendly benefits of a latex mattress composed of all-natural rubber foam.
Perhaps the best thing about all-natural latex mattresses is that the consumer does not have to sacrifice comfort in seeking out an eco-friendly product. Latex mattresses provide the same body contouring effects that have made memory foam mattresses explosively popular in recent years. In addition, latex mattresses are also hypo-allergenic, anti-bacterial and resistant to dust mites.
