Quality Control in Assembling of the Beds ISO 9001, etc.

Those in the market for an adjustable bed find that virtually all manufacturers sell their products through on line and local retailer outlets who offer little information on manufacturing processes used. They rely simply on what marketing information is provided by the manufacturer to successfully promote their beds. Consumers are left to do their own due diligence to research the companies providing them a product that they will not only spend a third of more of their lives in, but will ultimately improve the quality of their lives! They soon find that manufacturing processes can vary, some more closely regulated for quality control production standards than others.

With more and more consumers wanting to know not only how, but where their adjustable beds are being made, they find that most beds are produced in countries other than the United States. Those concerned with companies producing their beds internationally, do so because of uncertainty of quality control during production, and materials used in the manufacturing processes.

Manufacturers produce their products internationally because of lower production costs, and accordingly, consumers feel this can result in lesser quality workmanship. Companies have taken serious notice and consideration of this, and have given much attention to implement much tighter quality control standards in their manufacturing processes

Realizing by simply advertising the fact that the latest and most stringent quality control methods were being used in the production of the beds would have limited credibility; most of today’s manufacturers that do use international facilities have implemented the ISO 9000, and 9001 managerial and quality control protocols. This protocol requires strict compliance from the participating company in order to receive certification. ISO 9000 and 9001 certification (the International Standard of Organization) has rigid management systems and 8 mission statements of management principles that the company wishing certification must adhere to.

Once compliance of management principles and quality control processes has been completed through monitoring and assessment of the participating organization, certification is issued. Regular monitoring of the certified organization’s managerial practices by the governing board of the program, gives the consumer peace of mind that they will be getting a quality constructed product, with no substandard material or shoddy craftsmanship.

ISO 9000 and 9001 managerial and quality control standards are a globally recognized and accepted process of governing practices and standards that removes managerial practices and production concerns between countries unaware of, and perhaps suspect of, one another’s material and manufacturing processes.
